WHAT DO THE YOUNG ICONS TASTE OF?

No two wines are alike,

but all are in rich in fruit expression,

tasting of the grapes from which they were made.

Bacchus

A grape named after the roman god of wine? Sounds very promising. Bacchus lives up to its fantastic name, producing wonderfully juicy yet light-footed wines with heavenly fruit and aromatic expression. Alas, Bacchus does not date back to the romans – it was created around 90 years ago at the Siebeldingen federal research institute for grapevine breeding in the Pfalz region of Germany.

Seductive nose of elderberry and lime blossom, with passion fruit, pineapple, honeydew melon on the palate. A subtle line of acidity cuts through the sweet fruit to give our YOUNG ICONS BACCHUS its lovely sense of freshness.

With its distinctly sweet and fruity notes, our YOUNG ICONS BACCHUS is perfect with Asian food. But this wine also good for kicking off a party, toasting with friends and family, or just sipping for the sake of it.

Scheurebe

The Scheurebe grape was created by Dr Georg Scheu in 1916. ‘Scheu’ also means shy – which is ironic, because Scheurebe is the intense, enticing, fruity, approachable antithesis of shy.

Our YOUNG ICONS SCHEUREBE has a heady nose of exotic fruit, which translates into flavours of lychee, mango, blackcurrant, passion fruit, and gooseberry. Fine acidity lends harmony and balance.

From chinese to indian to other asian food – our YOUNG ICONS SCHEUREBE is perfect if you like it hot. Our ‘Scheu’ also pairs wonderfully with sushi and is a dream with strong cheese as well as desserts like cake.

Spätburgunder Rosé

Pinot Noir arrived in Germany from Burgundy at an early stage – probably in the late ninth century AD. Today, it is the most commonly cultivated red grape variety in Germany, covering almost 12,000 hectares, and is also becoming increasingly popular as a rosé. Especially when it is as uncomplicated and light as the YOUNG ICONS SPÄTBURGUNDER ROSÉ.

Take a sip and savour a vibrant mix of strawberry, raspberry, cherry and delicate citrus notes on the palate. Our YOUNG ICONS SPÄTBURGUNDER ROSÉ is a picture-perfect rosé, with rich fruit imparting a very rounded, full and refreshing mouthfeel.

Our YOUNG ICONS SPÄTBURGUNDER ROSÉ goes perfectly with cold platters – from antipasti to heartier selections – as well as grilled vegetables, meat and fish. Served well chilled, this wine is the indispensable accompaniment to any summer party.

Riesling is the giant among german white wines, admired the world over for its fine, elegant profile of fruit and acidity. Which is why you will find it on the wine lists of the best restaurants around the globe – if haute cuisine is your thing. But we believe that good riesling shouldn’t cost the earth. Find out by opening a bottle of our YOUNG ICON RIESLING.

Youthful, fresh and fruity, with notes of citrus, peach and apricot. The acidity is very attractive, lending great polish and vibrancy.

Our YOUNG ICON RIESLING goes well with thai curry, sauteed prawns, finger food, grilled vegetables, and veggie burger. You can enjoy it as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to your meal. Or simply savour it on its own.

Silvaner

Silvaner is a typical German grape variety that has been grown in our country for over 350 years. neither fat nor thin, Silvaner is appreciated particularly for its gentle acidity and lightness of touch. like all our YOUNG ICONS, this wine comes from Rheinhessen, which has more vineyard area devoted to Silvaner than any other region worldwide.

The nose shows herbs and even a slight mineral hint reminiscent of wet stone. Apple and ripe pear emerge on the palate. Our YOUNG ICONS SILVANER is an elegant, light, dry wine that has instant appeal on account of its fresh, fruity style.

Try our YOUNG ICONS SILVANER with asparagus – it is a match made in heaven. This wine also goes really well with cold platters, roasts, fried and smoked fish, and deep-fried vegetables.
